Human connection

Welcome to this new experience readers!
Although this is the very first entry in this blog you are about to read, this isn’t my first experience as a blogger because I wrote another one once. What I’m going to talk about this time is Education and how can we take advantage of ICT in English language teaching and learning.

Nowadays, we are not only surrounded by technology, but also many people use it in an excessive way. Finding the balance between the way we use it and with which purpose, it’s not that easy. The aim of this blog is to share free and useful tools that we can find and use online for both teachers and students of English.

In this inaugural post, I’d like to share with you a Ted Talk that inspired me as a future English teacher. In my opinion, the most important thing we need to think about is the teacher we want to be, how are we going to achieve it and, of course, which tools can we use in class to motivate our students and to show them the opportunities the ICT world offers for learning. This is the reason why I’ve decided that the first post should talk about us, about teachers and students and the importance of emotions and relationships. We need to know who we want to be as teachers to create a significant learning.

The speaker of this Education Ted Talk is Rita Pierson. She was teacher for forty years and her talk is called “Every kid needs a champion”. I hope you enjoy it as I do every time I play it.
